Uma Crítica Pós-Keynesiana à Educação Financeira Convencional

Resumo

A educação financeira tem atraído cada vez mais atenção de governos, think tanks e instituições internacionais nos últimos anos. No entanto, as políticas e práticas predominantes no campo geralmente assumem um quadro analítico muito estreito. Este artigo analisa propostas de políticas de educação financeira a partir de uma perspectiva teórica pós-keynesiana. A maioria das práticas pressupõe que a educação financeira, ao transferir conhecimento e informação para as pessoas, promove a capacidade financeira, melhorando as decisões individuais. Nossa análise mostra, no entanto, que a desconsideração de elementos básicos relacionados ao funcionamento do sistema financeiro, como a incerteza e os ciclos financeiros de Minsky, podem comprometer qualquer decisão financeira. A conclusão é que as políticas de educação financeira exigem o reconhecimento do ambiente incerto e desequilibrado em que as decisões financeiras são tomadas e não podem se restringir apenas à qualificação dos indivíduos.
